Civic Design Review

Civic Design Review ensures that civic architecture is at the forefront of design and sustainability. The Review Committee is made up of architects and designers who conduct a three-phase review of all new and renovated public construction projects.

Community Investments

The Community Investments program supports San Francisco artists, arts organizations, and historically underserved communities through grants, technical assistance and capacity building, economic development, arts education initiatives and the community-based Cultural Centers.

Public Art

From the airport to the zoo, the Arts Commission ensures that all city residents, workers and visitors have access to world-class art in everyday settings.

SFAC Galleries

With three Civic Center locations, the SFAC Galleries make contemporary art accessible to broad audiences through curated exhibitions and special projects that both reflect our regional diversity and position the Bay Area within an international art landscape.

Art Vendor Programs

The Arts Commission certifies artists to sell their work in designated spaces in the city’s most-visited areas such as Fisherman’s Wharf, Justin Herman Plaza and Union Square.
